Position: Database Architect

Experience:

10-15 Years

BTech/BE, MCA, MTech, Any Graduate

Strong working knowledge of SQL Server 2008, BI tools
Database Design, Data Maintenance, Database Security, Database Management
Sound knowledge of RDBMS Concepts, Database Architecture and SQL/T-SQL
Must be self-directed, confident and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborate with others and work well with developers and product management.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Extensive index and query tuning on high-transaction systems
Ability to identify and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU memory I/O, disk space and other resource contention
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication and High Availability strategies for MS SQL environments
Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching.

Experience working on Live database / Live Production
BI Reporting, Monitoring Tools
Creating and managing multiple Databases and assisting in capacity planning
Monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of all SQL Servers
Develops strategies and implements solutions for Managing backups, restoration and replication
Database Tuning, Using SQL Profiler, generating traces, execution plans, identifying Performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolving them
Pairing with developers to design the database
Manages Production, QA and Development Database Environments.
Creates detailed documentation and diagrams of SQL infrastructure.
Should Have Knowledge on Scrum Development Process
Assist in planning and managing outages/downtimes at any time.
Learn the relevant business processes; understand the data flow, criticality and dependencies
Proactive Housekeeping/archiving and shrinking of databases
Creating and managing Constraints and indexes
Maintaining Data Integrity and Security (managing DB users, role's and permissions)
Supports software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures.
